Wayne Cantwell

As a core member of the Crescendo Ventures investment team, Wayne Cantwell offers his technical expertise to companies including Arteris, eASIC, Next I/O, and Quorum. He joined the firm in 2003, following a career spanning two decades in the semiconductor and software industries. Prior to his current tenure with Crescendo, Wayne served as president and CEO of inSilicon Corporation. There, he led the company through its initial public offering and several successful acquisitions. Prior to his role at inSilicon, Wayne oversaw Phoenix Technologies' worldwide field operations and grew the organization to over 400 people and $125 million in globally distributed business. His operational expertise also extends overseas, having managed programs in Japan, Taiwan and Europe. Wayne has previously held positions with Intel Corporation and NEC Corporation. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the DeVry Institute of Technology.

Mike Farmwald

Mike Farmwald is a serial entrepreneur with one of the most successful track records in Silicon Valley. As one half of the investing team behind Skymoon Ventures, Mike sits on the boards of companies such as Rambus and Matrix Semiconductor. To date, he has founded six companies, five of which were financed in part by Benchmark Capital, where he was a venture partner. Mike is best known for founding Rambus, where he served as vice president and chief scientist, overseeing the development of several key innovations, including the 1992 introduction of the world's first 4 Mbit RDRAM. Other companies Mike has founded include Matrix Semiconductor, Chromatic Research (acquired by ATI), Epigram (acquired by Broadcom), and FTL(merged with MIPS). Mike holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Purdue University and a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University.

Jim Goetz

Jim Goetz is a Partner at Sequoia Capital focusing on enterprise systems, mobile software and enterprise and consumer technology enabled services investments. Jim currently serves on the board of Admob, Appirio, Clearwell Systems, Dash Navigation, Data Connection, Jive Software, Palo Alto Networks and Widgetbox. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital in 2004, Jim served as a General Partner at Accel Partners where he led the investments in Entrisphere (ERIC), Peribit (JNPR), RGB, and Rhapsody (BRCD) and was part of the team responsible for BroadJump (MOTV), Timetra (ALA) and Topspin (CSCO). Earlier, Jim was a Founder of VitalSigns (LU) where he went on to serve as VP/GM of the VitalSoft division of Lucent. Prior to VitalSigns, Jim was the Vice President of Network Management for Bay Networks. Prior to Bay and Synoptics, he held various product and marketing positions at AT&T, AT&T Bell Labs, and Digital Equipment. Jim has a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Peter Gotcher

Peter Gotcher has more than 20 years of experience turning Silicon Valley companies into industry success stories. Over the course of his career, he has worn many hats, serving as founder, venture capital investor (Redpoint Ventures and IVP), board member and business advisor. Peter is currently an active member on the board of directors of Dolby Laboratories, Avnera, Line6, Zing and Pandora. Some of his past boards include Avid Technology, MusicMatch, Pacific Microsonics, Onebox, iGo Corporation, MyPlay and ViaFone, all of which became public companies or were acquired by leading companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo! and BMG. In 1984, he co-founded Digidesign and later led the company though its initial public offering and subsequent merger with Avid. During his 12 years with Digidesign, Peter held the positions of president, CEO and chairman, and following the merger, served as general manager of Digidesign and executive vice president of Avid until 1996. Peter holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from the University of California, Berkeley.

Matt Murphy

Matt Murphy is a Partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers; he joined in 1999. His focus areas of investment include communications and computing infrastructure, mobile applications, and semiconductors. Matt is either a Director or works closely with the management teams of IPUnity, M2Z, RGB Networks, Stoke, Peakstream, Xsigo, Ocarina, AutoNavi, Dash, Pelago, Kodiak Networks, eASIC, and Scintera. Previously he worked with and was a board observer at Google (from initial investment to IPO). Prior to KPCB, Matt was at NetBoost (a network processor start-up) where he led product management from 2nd round funding through acquisition by Intel in 1999. Before NetBoost, Matt worked at Sun Microsystems where he led business development for the Network Systems Group and was a Product Line Manager for networking platforms. Matt also worked in consulting for a number of years, including at Booz, Allen, & Hamilton where he focused on corporate strategy, and at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) where he led computer systems integration projects. Matt holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
